reverse gear

how does it get so late in here
am i at the end of the road
or its center
was it a moment or a year ago
i used to be the opinion
by the side of the road
the moral the mocking bird
now i am the darkened theme
at which opinions are thrown
i would say full circle were it true
if i thought it through
what is true
